In children and adolescents there is a 3.9 percent chance that they will develop ptsd. That means if you pull 100 students about 4 will develop ptsd. That means you have a very good chance that someone you know will develop this. Do you know what ptsd does to people, sometimes it goes away with time but the other times it tears a person apart from the inside by making them relive that trauma on a daily basis. Does it make you want to do something knowing that 3.9 percent of people will turn out like this?

How it relates to me

It relates to me because my cousin was deployed in Iraq as a marine. He was in Iraq for 4 years and before he left he was a very happy energetic 20 year old just living his life, but when he got back he was a very quite person. Everyone in the family worried about him, because it turned his loud funny voice into a soft sad voice and just completely ruined his upbeat mood. This happens to 11% percent of soldiers get ptsd(post traumatic stress disorder), it can effect even the most prepared soldiers.  Help spread awareness so that all of our soldiers will be put into the right places to help them. Think of every soldier as your brother, dad, or son, now think of what you would do to help them. Now wouldn't want someone else to help your family member. You can be that someone.
